National studies are being held in all partner countries to identify the educational needs of pedagogical staff and teachers in early childhood education and care (ECEC) services and/or in primary schools – on the issue of gender sensitive education with a specific focus on men and care.

National studies include practices, tools, and materials to work on the topic with children. This was achieved with surveys of the official curriculums, existing projects and actions, and by interviews and focus groups with teachers, experts and school authorities as well as by the distribution of a questionnaire (check list for self – reflection) to teachers.

The partnership developed a comparative needs’ assessment report, which includes a review of ECEC and/or primary schools’ curriculums, an overview of existing state of the art research, a collection of good practice examples, and an analysis of teachers’ actual and practical needs in all partners’ countries related to gender sensitive early education and men in care.
